Work Based Learning
Work-Based Learning (WBL) is a valuable educational approach that gives students firsthand experience with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the professional world. At the EACC, WBL preparation includes a variety of activities such as employability skills panels, mock interviews, workplace tours, and industry presentations. For students who meet the necessary criteria, additional opportunities like job shadows and internships further enrich their real-world learning experience.
In most programs, EACC students participate in a two-week job shadow during Year 1, followed by an internship in Year 2. Internships may last a semester or the full school year. Training plans are developed by instructors and employers to ensure that classroom learning and student interests are meaningfully applied in a workplace setting.
