Fire & Rescue

Students in the Fire & Rescue Program learn the fundamentals of First aid/CPR, Fire Suppression, Fire Behavior, Search & Rescue, Incident Command, Ventilation, Salvage & Overhaul, Vehicle Extrication, Rope Rescue and Hazardous Materials.

Through project-based learning, Fire & Rescue students will have the opportunity to take on a variety of real-world fire (incident command) simulations in collaboration with their instructor and classmates.

Through work-based learning, Fire & Rescue students may have the opportunity to complete a job shadow and/or internship at a local fire department or ambulance service.

Students completing the Fire & Rescue program at the EACC will be prepared and have the required knowledge for the next step in their career journey, whether it's college or directly into the career field.  

During their two years at the EACC, Fire students will have the opportunity to earn 32 college credits through dual enrollment at Ivy Tech Community College, at no charge to student/family and by simply successfully completing the EACC program.  

Students who complete the program will have the opportunity to test for Firefighter 1 (IDHS) and Firefighter 2 (IDHS).

Additionally, students who complete dual enrollment courses including PARM102 (Emergency Medical Technician) either through their home high school or the EACC, can earn a Firefighting Certificate from Ivy Tech Community College.
