EMT: Critical Care

Students in the EMT: Critical Care program learn the fundamentals of emergency care, patient assessment, drawing blood, cardiology, 12 Lead acquisition and interpretation, and many other patient related skills.

Through project-based learning, EMT: Critical Care students will have the opportunity to take on a variety of real-world Healthcare simulations in collaboration with their instructor and classmates.

Through work-based learning, EMT: Critical Care students may have the opportunity to complete a job shadow and/or internship at a local healthcare facility or ambulance service.

Students completing the EMT: Critical Care program at the EACC will be prepared and have the required knowledge for the next step in their career journey, whether it’s college or directly into the career field.

During their 1-2 years at the EACC, EMT students will have the opportunity to earn 29.5 college credits through dual enrollment at Ivy Tech Community College, at no charge to the student/family and by simply successfully completing the EACC program.

Students who complete the program will have the opportunity to test for EMT-Basic, as well as earn an EKG Certification.

Additionally, students who complete additional Ivy Tech college courses at their home high school or the EACC can earn a Healthcare Specialist Technical Certificate from Ivy Tech Community College.
