Culinary Arts

Students in the Culinary Arts program learn the fundamentals of sanitation, principals, techniques of cooking and baking, and kitchen safety.

Through project-based learning, Culinary Arts students will have the opportunity to take on special catering project for a customer or prepare food for a farmer's market, under the guidance and direction of their instructors. Students will be involved in the creation of a menu, costing, pricing, food marketing, production, presentation, and delivery.

Through work-based learning, Culinary Arts students may have the opportunity to complete a semester-long or school-year long internship at a local restaurant, caterer, or food service business.

Students completing the Culinary Arts program at the EACC will be prepared and have the required knowledge for the next step in their career journey, whether it’s college or going directly into the career field.

During their two years at the EACC, Culinary Arts students will have the opportunity to earn 22 college credits through dual enrollment at Ivy Tech, at no charge to the student/family by successfully completing the EACC program with a grade of "C" or better. Students who complete the program will have the opportunity to test for the ServSafe Food Manager: National Restaurant Association certification.

Additionally, students who complete dual enrollment courses can earn a Culinarian Certificate and/or Pastry Culinarian Certificate.
