Dental Assisting

Students in the Dental Assisting program learn the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career in the Dental Field. A focus is placed on the role of the modern dental assistant and will cover key pre-clinical procedures and beginning dental terminology.

Through service and project-based learning, Dental Assisting students will have the opportunity to learn through classroom instruction and practice in the on-site dental lab.

Through work-based learning, Dental Assisting students may have the opportunity to complete a semester-long or school-year long internship at a local dental practice.

Students completing the Dental Assisting program at the EACC will be prepared and have the required knowledge for the next step in their career journey, whether it’s college or going directly into the career field.

Students who complete the program will have the opportunity to test for the National Entry Level Dental Assistant (NELDA) certificate.
