Welding Technology

Students in the Welding Technology program learn the fundamentals of stick arc welding, mig and tig welding, and focus time on fractions, measuring, decimals, percentages, problem solving, and teamwork. 

Through service and project-based learning, Welding Technology students will have the opportunity to take on a variety of real-world design work in collaboration with their instructor and classmates.

Through work-based learning, Welding Technology students may have the opportunity to complete a semester-long or school-year long internship at a local business, assisting with welding set-up and various types of welding. 

Students completing the Welding Technology program at the EACC will be prepared and have the required knowledge for the next step in their career journey, whether it's college or directly into the workforce.

During their two years at the EACC, Welding Technology students will have the opportunity to earn 21 college credits through dual enrollment at Vincennes University, at no charge to the student/family and by simply successfully completing the EACC program. Students who complete the program will have the opportunity to test for AWS SENSE certification.

Additionally, students who complete dual enrollment courses MATH 123 (Quantitative Reasoning) and COMM 101 (Communication) either through their home high school or the EACC, can earn a Certificate of Graduation from Ivy Tech Community College.
