Veterinary Careers

Students in the Veterinary Careers program learn the fundamentals of Animal Nutrition, Husbandry, Anatomy and Physiology, Basic restraint, and common procedures in veterinary medicine.

Through project-based learning, Veterinary Careers students will have the opportunity to take on a variety of real-world veterinary practice issues in collaboration with their instructor and classmates.

Through work-based learning, Veterinary Careers students may have the opportunity to complete a semester-long or school-year long internship at a local business, completing entry level veterinary assisting in a clinical or shelter setting. 

Students completing the Veterinary Careers program at the EACC will be prepared and have the required knowledge for the next step in their career journey, whether it’s college or directly into the career field.

During their two years at the EACC, Veterinary Careers students will have the opportunity to earn nine college credits through dual enrollment at Ivy Tech, at no charge to the student/family and by simply successfully completing the EACC program.

Students who complete the program will have the opportunity to test for Fear Free certification (pending).

Additionally, students who complete dual enrollment courses can earn an Animal Agribusiness Certificate.
