Drone Technology/Precision Ag

Students in the Drone Technology/Precision Ag program learn the fundamentals of drone technology, including crop, soil, and water structure analyses. Students will investigate the rapidly emerging use of drone technology in a wide range of industries and careers.

Through project-based learning, Drone Technology/Precision Ag students will have the opportunity to use drone skills to assist a business with a project.

Through work-based learning, Drone Technology/Precision Ag students may have the opportunity to complete a semester-long or school-year long internship at a farm, farm technology organization, precision agriculture business, or in another field of interest that uses drones.

Students completing the Drone Technology/Precision Ag program at the EACC will be prepared and have the required knowledge for the next step in their career journey, whether it’s college or going directly into the career field.

During their two years at the EACC, Drone Technology/Precision Ag students will have the opportunity to earn up to 35 college credits through dual enrollment at Ivy Tech, at no charge to the student/family by successfully completing the EACC program with a grade of "C" or better. Students who complete the program will have the opportunity to take the Remote Pilot (FAA Part 107) exam. 

Student who complete additional dual enrollment college courses (IVYT 106, MATH 123, COMM 101) through their home high school or the EACC can earn a Precision Agriculture Certificate from Ivy Tech Community College.
